Of Love And Death

Getting back

“But I’ve seen you.” Freya says, regarding him and the boxes. “Are those Pia’s?”

“Not this Agsård, I’m afraid.” Freya said, fiddling with her mug as she thought. “I’d love to help you find him.”

“There are other Agsårds?” Anna wondered.  There were many Heavens, so she wasn’t sure why that news surprised her.  In fact, every soul had their own Heaven, and then of course there was Heaven as a whole, and where the angels presided andThrones and….well, suffice it to say, the idea shouldn’t have been novel to the angel.

“Ah, well, not quite..” She ran her finger around the rim of her mug. “There are other universes. With other gods, and other Asgårds, I’m assured you’re aware of this. For some reasons, the universes has been mixed together.” She shrugged. “So Gabriel might be there.”

Bonding in Asgard

askanna:

“I’d like to, yes,” she nodded and cupped a newly delivered mug of mead in her hands.  ”Some say he’s here in Asgard.”

“Not this Agsård, I’m afraid.” Freya said, fiddling with her mug as she thought. “I’d love to help you find him.”

Bonding in Asgard

“I have met him. But in Midgard. Not in Asgård, I’m afraid.” She told one of the valkyries to keep the mead coming and turned back to Anna.

Anna watched as Freya ordered, thoughts swirling in her head.  When Freya faced her again, she asked, “On Earth?  How did it go?”

Freya shrugged, drawing her eyebrows together. “Oh, you know. Nothing significant, really. It’s been a while. Are you trying to find him?”

“I’m fairly sociable; I know almost every deity and angel.” She said, raising her eyebrow.

“He left Heaven for Asgard at one point because of his issues with Father, I think.”  Anna searched Freya’s face, wondering what news or stories she might have of her brother.

“I have met him. But in Midgard. Not in Asgård, I’m afraid.” She told one of the valkyries to keep the mead coming and turned back to Anna.

“Yes,” Freya said in slight nostalgia. “And it has much more alcohol than the mortals can take, so that’s a plus too.”

“Might explain the happy warm feeling in my toes,” Anna giggled.  ”Have you ever heard of an archangel named Gabriel?”

“I’m fairly sociable; I know almost every deity and angel.” She said, raising her eyebrow.

Freya nodded. “I’ll tell the Valkyries to keep it coming. You’re fine with mead?”

“Absolutely.  It’s delicious,” the red head nodded.

“Yes,” Freya said in slight nostalgia. “And it has much more alcohol than the mortals can take, so that’s a plus too.”

“In this realm. No such thing. In Vanaheim, it’s like the stiff upper lip. Very proper and impersonal.” She looked at her mug. It wasn’t exactly aesthetic  but then again, what in Valhal was? Why not, she thought as she downed the rest.

“Time for more,” Anna suggested as she finished her own mug.  ”I think it might take a lot of this tonight if we keep talking about things that annoy us.”

Freya nodded. “I’ll tell the Valkyries to keep it coming. You’re fine with mead?”

“He’s very easy to argue with.” She said with a chuckle. “Very hard to agree with, on a personal level at least. Very politically correct, which sets me off.” She glanced at her mead and took a slightly bigger sip. “Which is why I tend to stay away.”

Anna smiled into her mead, took a long swallow and set it down.  ”Now I’m even more curious.  What’s political correctness like in this realm?”

“In this realm. No such thing. In Vanaheim, it’s like the stiff upper lip. Very proper and impersonal.” She looked at her mug. It wasn’t exactly aesthetic  but then again, what in Valhal was? Why not, she thought as she downed the rest.

Anna inhaled the smell of the mead, detecting a honey scent and then took a swallow.  ”Mmmm,” she hummed, delighted with the taste.  ”He’s hard to agree with, even harder to argue with since he’s decided to ignore us all,” she said with a shrug.  ”What about your father?”

“He’s very easy to argue with.” She said with a chuckle. “Very hard to agree with, on a personal level at least. Very politically correct, which sets me off.” She glanced at her mead and took a slightly bigger sip. “Which is why I tend to stay away.”

Anna paused the conversation as the mead was set on the table.  The smell of it was fresh and crisp.  ”I don’t much agree with my Father, either,” she said with a grimace.

“I don’t think very many people do anymore.” Freya said with a chuckle, taking a sip of her mead.

“Yes.. You know how there’s nine realms? Asgård, Midgård, and Udgård are the most commonly known. Most gods are from Asgård, but some are from Vanaheim. I haven’t met many, to be honest, since I and my brother Frey were given to Asgård’s king, Odin, as a peace offering, by my father, the king of Vanaheim, since they were at war when i was born.” Freya explained, gesturing vaguely with her hands as she did so.

“You’ve lived in Asgård so long?  Have you been allowed to visit Vanaheim?” asked with a frown.  She wasn’t judging the practice of giving children as peace offerings.  Heaven knew her Father had demanded worse things, but she was concerned that Freya may have never known her homeland.

Freya grimaced slightly. “I’ve been there once. Met my father. I didn’t agree with him, so i came back. Any other realm though.”

“Most of the gods know each other. We get together every so often to eat Idunn’s apples, you see. But I don’t know everyone here. There’s valkyries, whom I know most off, since I’m a Vanir, and not an Asgardian, but the fallen heroes who resides here.. I don’t take much interest in the kind of heroes who doesn’t go to Folkvang.” Pia explained, as a young lady, with light hair, and skin that looked so soft and thin that it would break if you as much as touched her, but with tough, alert eyes, came over. “Hej søde. Mjød og vin, tak. Hav en fantastisk evighed.”

Anna listened to Freya, picking up on words that were unique to the realm. “Vanir?” she asked as the ethereal being departed to fill the order Freya had given.

“It’s no problem.” Freya assured her. “A valkyrie will be over shortly, I’m sure.”

Anna scanned the room with curiosity over who was in the tavern mixed with her soldier instincts to know who was near.  ”Everyone assumes all the angels know each other, but we don’t.  Is it like that for those being here?”

But it isn’t always. Yes, that will be fine. -Sits at the table-

I’ll let you order for me, if you don’t mind?  *takes the set opposite Freya so she can see her and talk to her easily*

“It’s no problem.” Freya assured her. “A valkyrie will be over shortly, I’m sure.”
